Hello:

My name is Nick and I have a show on CHIRP called Loose Diamonds, which airs every Sunday from 6-9 a.m. I've only been doing the show for about nine months, but I love doing it. I get to stay involved in learning about new music and bands I've never heard before, and I get to share what I find with you and everyone else. It really is something I look forward to every week.

CHIRP has existed for a decade now, and in that time, it has become a powerful force for good in the Chicago music scene. The organization is involved in almost every major music festival in the city, sponsors great concerts, and promotes local music. The station is also finally ready to start broadcasting live on the radio at 107.1 FM starting in late October.

CHIRP is a volunteer-driven organization, but internet/broadcast radio is an expensive proposition, and the organization needs your donations to keep operating. Please consider donating if you ever listen to CHIRP or even if you just want to support Chicago's music scene. Or consider donating if you want to support my fun hobby, because if CHIRP goes away, I won't be able to do it anymore.

To encourage donations, I will be hosting my first-ever Terrible Music Showcase during my Sunday, September 24, show. If you donate $25 or more to CHIRP in my name, you can pick the worst, dumbest, most annoying song you can think of, and I will be forced to play it during my show, possibly damaging my indie cred forever. I think it will actually be fun (?).
